Photography exhibition: Creating for Lithuania. Portraits and stories of refugees

The exhibition at the City Laboratory (Antakalnio st. 17- 13, Vilnius) is OPEN NOW and will run until August 31.

Caritas of the Vilnius Archdiocese together with the photographer Egle Cimalanskaitė invites the Lithuanian society to get acquainted with the persons granted asylum in Lithuania. Many refugees have had to leave their homeland and seek asylum because of the threat to their safety and the lives of their loved ones, but despite the challenges, the heroes of the exhibition “Creating Lithuania: Portraits and Stories of Refugees” not only took the opportunity to create a new life in Lithuania.

This exhibition is an acquaintance with creators from various fields: a medical student, the head of a non-governmental organization, a journalist, a park manager, a couple of photographers, a translator and other refugees creating for Lithuania. Portraits and personal stories behind the word “refugee” show a real person and break down stereotypes about what the settlers do in Lithuania, why they had to leave their homes and what dreams they aspire to.
